MAIKAI was born from a longing to feel at home in what we wear. Each piece is an offering. Woven, stitched, & dyed by hand using time-honored techniques. We work closely with artisan communities across India, preserving ancestral craft.

Our name comes from the Hawaiian word Maika’i, meaning “goodness”. A reminder to create mindfully, honour generational wisdom, and impact lives. Clothing, we believe, should feel as good as it looks. Soft on the skin, kind to the earth, and rooted in story.

Founded in Goa, India by Vidya Sethi, MAIKAI is a slow fashion house rooted in India’s rich ancestral textile heritage.

A Wardrobe Rooted in Story & Soul

Our designs embrace the beauty of slow living. Natural fibers, botanical dyes and the delicate touch of handcrafted textiles. We collaborate with artisans across India, breathing life into ancient dyeing, weaving, and embroidery techniques that are at risk of fading in the wake of fast fashion. By preserving these ancestral crafts, we ensure that the women and men behind them continue to thrive, passing down their knowledge to future generations.

Intention Woven into Every Stitch

The world does not need more clothing. It needs more intention. We choose materials that honor the planet, from biodegradable Indian cotton to naturally dyed, hand printed and woven, low-impact fabrics. Our production is slow, deliberate, and ethical, ensuring that every maker is valued, every piece is cherished, and nothing is made without purpose.

Feminine, Fun & Fierce

A MAIKAI girl moves with grace yet stands with power. She embraces softness without surrendering strength, joy without losing depth, and beauty without compromising values. Our pieces are designed for her. We celebrate womanhood in all its forms. We honour a woman's natural cyclical rhythm, and her deep connection to self. Our designs are not about fitting in; they are about standing tall, moving freely, and owning your space with confidence. Our community spans 11 countries, and includes yoginis, artists, movement therapists, entrepreneurs, and women reimagining what slow living means in modern life.

Live the Feeling.

MAIKAI is a way of being. A commitment to slow mornings, sunlit afternoons, and moonlit reflections. A deep breath, a barefoot walk, a garment that feels like home.
